Concussion Safety & Rowan's Law
Concussion safety is everyone’s business. Whether you are a member of the Navan Curling Club, the parent of a child under the age of 18, a participant who is playing at the Club, or a Club Official or Coach, each must contribute to the well-being of ourselves and others. This is particularly true when it comes to playing a sport on ice where there is chance of falling and hitting your head.
In the context of the new legislative requirements related to concussion safety, and existing guidelines and policies at Curling Canada and CurlOn, the Navan Curling Club is taking action to improve concussion safety practices. The documents and links to other sources are meant to enhance concussion awareness and to promote safe practices and well-being.

The Rowan's Law acknowledgement form below must be signed by all members/participants and submitted to the Navan Curling Club’s Membership Director or a League/Program Convenor if they submitted hard copy registrations. Members who register online acknowledge the Concussion protocols as part of the registration process and are covered.
However, ALL curlers under the age of 18, even if their registration was entered online, must forward a hard copy of the acknowledgement form to the appropriate Youth Program coordinator prior to being considered registered to play. Note that both the child and the parent or guardian must sign the form:
