Navan Curing Club awarded $120,000 Capital Grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation!
Big news! Thanks to a generous $120,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), our curling club has a brand-new ice plant—and we’re ready to rock!
The OTF grant combined with the $50K received from the Friends of the Mer Bleue will cover some of the expense to replace the outdated refrigeration system (ice plant) and extend the life of the Club for another 30+ years.
The ice plant replacement project has been in the works for quite some time as the old system had surpassed its ‘best before’ date – we were running on borrowed time. The Board of Directors would like to extend a thank you to the following dedicated volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make this project happen: Ray Legault, Eric Flemming, Colin van Rootselaar, Brian Kyle, Jon Wall, Stéphane Beaulieu, Dave Scott, Kelly Oka and Gregory Lagacé.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to build healthy and vibrant communities across the province. Last year, OTF invested nearly $105M into 732 community projects and multi-sector partnerships. Projects aim to enhance economic well-being, foster more active lifestyles, support child and youth development, provide spaces for people to come together and connect, and create a more sustainable environment.
