The Navan Curling Club is located in the close knit community of Navan Ontario and is only about 20 minutes South East of downtown Ottawa and 10 minutes from the heart of Orleans. The Club was founded in 1984 and moved into its current building in 1991, which was built specifically for the Curling Club on the Navan Fairgrounds. You can read the story about how the Club was established by clicking here. Thank you to Ross Bradley, a founding member and first President of the Club for providing the details about what it took to get to where we are today.
The Club offers curling for almost any age through a variety of programs and membership numbers have consistently been over 600 for many years. The majority of that number are adult members, however there is a strong youth program in Navan with many of the younger crowd participating through the junior programs (U18 and U21), and a very well run Little Rocks program that introduces the kids to the sport of curling!
The Junior program (U21) started with the opening of the new curling facilities in Navan in 1991. The Little Rock program got under way the following year with the purchase of two sets of Little Rocks. The Club introduced a Bantam league (U18) to bridge the gap between the Little Rock and the Junior programs. In 1998 Navan added a fourth set of Little Rocks. This was necessary to support the full complement of 64 little Rockers that signed up to make that season Navan's best year ever.
Due to the popularity of this fast growing sport it is highly recommended that returning curlers sign up early each season. We want everyone to have the chance to become the next Brier champion!
